The Ohio Valley District Recycling & Transfer Station was constructed and opened in 2006. The site includes an office, truck shop building and transfer station.
76 full-time employees operate the site.
The office and truck shop building are about 13,284 sq. ft. under roof, and additional office space on the second floor is about 3,854 square feet.
The transfer station is approximately 21,960 sq. ft. The recycling area of the station is about 8,000 sq. ft. with a 2,300 sq. ft. loadout area.
The transfer station receives trash from Cabell, Mason, and Wayne Counties in West Virginia; Lawrence, Scioto, Gallia, and Pike Counties in Ohio; and Boyd and Greenup Counties in Kentucky.

Processes & Capabilities

Waste is consolidated and taken to Rumpke’s Pike Sanitary Landfill.
Recycling is consolidated and taken to Rumpke’s Recycling & Resource Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Recycling drop-boxes are available on-site and open to the public.
