Geauga Trumbull Partners With Rumpke for Recycling
New Program Makes Recycling Easy
Jan. 1, 2014 – The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District has selected Rumpke as its new service provider for the district’s public recycling drop-off program, which will make recycling easier and more convenient for recyclers.
Rumpke uses a process called “single stream recycling,” which means all recyclables can be mixed together in a single container. Public recycling drop-off containers are being placed at more than 50 convenient locations throughout the two counties.
“The District is very excited about being able to offer this new single stream recycling program to the residents. The new program will make recycling so much easier, all material now can be placed into one container,” said Robert Villers, director of Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District.
Residents can recycle many common household items, including:
- Paper Products: office paper, newspapers including inserts, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, paperboard (e.g. cereal boxes)
- Cardboard Boxes (please flatten to save space)
- Aluminum Cans
- Steel Cans
- Glass Bottles and Jars
- Plastic Bottles and Jugs
- Cartons (e.g. milk, juice and broth)
“We are very excited to offer recycling throughout Geauga and Trumbull Counties,” said Andrew Rumpke, vice president at Rumpke. “As a recycling leader in Ohio, we’re always looking for opportunities to recycle more and trash less.”
